Last night (very late) I took this picture while letting my dog Bailey out to do his business. The clouds were moving slowly pass the moon and as I took this picture something strange happened. It appears there was lightening but there wasn't. I have no idea what happened. I'm sure it was something to do with my camera but what?? Do you know??? It's very odd looking.

Frigid January Night - Photo A Day #17

As I sit at my computer this evening and work on my blog postings, I am so cold. It is a very chilling 29F tonight. The weather man on our local station has said that we are to have sleet and some snow tomorrow. Yippee!!! So I decided to take a night time picture of this tree in my yard. As I stood outside to take it, I pretended there was 2 ft of snow on the ground. Brrrrrrr. Just looking at this picture gives me chills.

My Daily Vitamins - Photo A Day #16

Vitamins - such a controversial subject. I take these twice a day. My doctor recommended most of these...calcium, multi-vitamin, soy, flax seed oil, biotin, vitamin C. Years ago though I attempted to take vitamins but they never seem to make me feel any different. So, I stopped taking them and saved the money.

All I can say is YUMMY!!!! These candies have been in my freezer for 2 years. I took them out yesterday, brought them to room temperature and they are extremely tasty.

Nail In My Tire - Photo A Day #14

I just freak out when I see a nail in my tire. This picture shows the nail I found today. The reason I get so very concerned is because years ago unbeknownst to me there was a nail in one of my tires. I heard something tapping on the concrete as I drove across town but had no idea what the noise was. On the way home later that day in rush hour traffic driving about 65 mph, I had a blow out. It's a wonder I didn't have a horrible wreck. Yes...God was definitely watching over me. I was able to pull over to the shoulder and call a friend to come help. Once I got to the tire store they showed me the tire and the nail had damaged the radials in my tire - thus the blowout. Since that time I am so very cautious when I see nails. Also, several years after that I head the same tapping and was able to locate another nail in my tire.

Fortunately this nail was not very long - maybe 1/4" and I have very good tread on these tires. So, once again God was watching over me.

Sunrise - Photo A Day #8

This morning as I was leaving for work this was what I saw when I opened my drapes to my east window...this beautiful sunrise with a partial rainbow. This picture doesn't do it justice and of course I'm an amateur/novice/beginner photographer. Also today was the first time I actually used the "landscape" option on my camera. Duh!!! We had just had a nice rain fall around 5 am. And within 2 hrs a northern wind began it's cool down and the temps started dropping.

This very pretty vintage jewelry box was given to me in 1967 I think. I know it was sometimes in the late 60's. I think it was a graduation gift so it had to be 1967. Anyway, every time I look at it, it brings back many memories both good and sad. I think it is worthy of my foto blog. Hope you think it's pretty also. It's sterling silver with a red velvet underlay.

I used to be an avid skier from 1978 - 1985. I lived to ski and I loved every minute of it As years passed and after a near death ski accident in Banff, Canada, I slowed down a lot. I still have very fond memories of those fabulous trips with all my friends to places such as Vail, Colorado; Steamboat Springs, Colorado: Winter Park, Colorado; Park Cities, Utah; Breckenridge, Colorado; Beaver Creek, Colorado; Monarch, Colorado; Lake Tahoe, California: Banff Springs, Alberta.

Dale Carnegie - Photo A Day #2

I took the Dale Carnegie Course in 1997 and this is the course book that was given to each of us. Once we graduated from the class each member received a diploma. Also during the course there are numerous contest and prizes are awarded.

Taking the course was another pivotal moment in my life. This course taught me so many useful tools regarding people skills, communications skills, goal setting, time management, public speaking, enhancing confidence among a few. I highly recommend this course.

White Rock Marathon 1993 - Photo A Day #1

This is a set of 3 photos (different views) of the medal I won after I ran and finished the White Rock Marathon in Dallas, Texas in 1993. This was a pivotal moment in my life in that I set goals and commitments that required an extra ordinary amount of strict discipline from me.

I was a runner/jogger for several years before I committed to the race. I ran 5k, 8k, 10k over a period of time. With the help of several friends who also ran and coached, motivated and inspired me along the way, I was able to finish 26 miles in 5hrs and 48min. Whew!!!
