Welcome to my foto blog. I'm making a serious committment to take at least a picture a day for 2008. Each of these pictures are meaningful to me in some way either from the past or present. I'm a novice with photography eventhough I take pictures often for my other blogs. If you have any suggestions to help me with this journey, please leave comments. 1/1/2008

Annoying Dandelion Weeds

Dandelion weeds are so annoying. These little stinkers just drive me nuts. I try to pull them as soon as I see them poke their heads up through the ground. I put weed killer on my yard yearly and continue to spray as needed but they still pop up. I wonder, really, what's the purpose of these pesky things.

I would have thought like you too until recently I read something about Dandelion that change my opinion about them to certain extent. Lessons From A Dandelion. Dandelion is actually a natural herb that is extremely beneficial to us both internally and externally.

lol ... we have them in Australia too. I've given up and pretend to enjoy the yellow flowers and wispy bals ;-)

Ellen, believe it or not, dandelions were brought to North America (and Australia, I figure) by Europeans. The leaves are edible, and they wanted to use it as a source of food. Isn't that just the PITS?!?!

I think their purpose is to get you away from the computer and give you some exercise by walking, bending and pulling.

Ellen,

You might have noticed that the Photo-A-Day images from The BenSpark have not been showing up for a week now. Something happened to the feed coming from Buzznet. I have been very disappointed in their performance and in an effort to fix the problem as well as cut down the work I do each night to make sure the images get out to everyone I have made a switch to Flickr to deliver the Photo-A-Day images. I have new code on The BenSpark (http://www.benspark.com/photo-a-day) that you can use to update the widget. This should prevent any need to update the code again. I apologize for the lack of images lately and I thank you for hosting Photo-A-Day on your Blog.
